Our Reception space allows for 225 people with multiple options for seating arrangements.
Our event season runs from June till end of September, with some exceptions.
We do have electricity, but our rustic venue does not have heat or air conditioning.
Prairie Homestead allows outside food and liquor on our venue. This allows the opportunity for a licensed caterer to serve or the option to have a BBQ.
Music is encouraged, however, we need to respect our neighbors and not have excessively loud entertainment late into the evening.
In most cases we only book one wedding per weekend to ensure enough time for setup & clean up option. 2020 being the only year with exceptions because of COVID-19.
Prairie Homestead is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged personal items.
We require a 50% non-refundable deposit to confirm the date of your event. At this time a contract will be signed. All deposits go towards the final invoice. Both the remaining balance and a damage deposit will be required 1 month prior to the event. A damage deposit of $500 will be held until we are able to look over the venue after the event.
A temporary Liquor License must be purchased, and a copy must be provided Prairie Homestead the day before the event along with receipts of all alcohol purchased.
All alcohol must be served by a bartending service or Prairie Homestead’s bartending staff. See packages page for bartending rates.
Homemade wine is not permitted.
We request that you designate an Event Coordinator (friend/family/professional) for your event to handle communication with our staff during your event.
We will take care of all disposal of bagged garbage and empty cans/bottles.
Upon your request we will light, and maintain a bonfire in our fire pit for your guests to enjoy. We will provide the wood.
We are located on a farm yard, the grounds consist of gravel, grass and pavement, so we highly recommend you inform your guests to consider their footwear choice.
Our Venue is surrounded by crops that are not ours, so we ask that everyone be respectful and not pick or harm anything they see growing.
Children must be supervised at all times.
The Client is responsible for any damages to the premises by their guests before, during and after the event. The venue must be left in the same condition as it was when you arrived.
The renter is responsible for taking down and cleaning up any decorations, food, ect.
Prairie Homestead staff will not be responsible for catering, or dinner service. Options for cleanup help staff available upon request.
Prairie Homestead is NOT responsible for any acts of God – Rain, Wind, Mosquitos etc.
Smoking is not allowed in or around the Reception space. The only area for smoking is around the fire pit.
Absolutely no overnight lodging is permitted on the property. We are happy to make a recommendation for guests needing accommodations.
Fireworks, released lanterns, confetti and fake flower petals are not permitted on our property.
Prairie Homestead will not host socials or safe grads.
